BrainBite app — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

BrainBite is a children’s learning app provided by Naveed Ali ("BrainBite," "we," "us," or "our"). It offers age-appropriate activities involving healthy food choices, memory, flags, shapes, puzzles, coloring, rewards, and progress tracking.

We designed BrainBite to minimize the information it uses. Most learning activity data and user-created content stay on the device. This Privacy Policy explains what information BrainBite handles, why it is handled, when service providers receive it, and the choices available to parents and guardians.

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to the BrainBite Android application and related support services. BrainBite is designed for children, including children aged 6–8, but app setup and privacy choices must be managed by a parent or legal guardian.

If you are a child, ask a parent or guardian to review this policy and manage any profile, photo, or support request for you.

2. Information BrainBite handles

A. Information stored locally on the device

BrainBite may store the following information in the app’s private storage:

  • Activity results, completed levels, accuracy, attempts, coins, badges, and streaks;
  • A child profile, such as a display name, age range, avatar, and assigned learning path;
  • App preferences, including language and sound settings;
  • Coloring progress and other saved activity state; and
  • A copy of an image selected by a parent or guardian for a custom picture puzzle.

This information is used to provide the activities, remember progress, personalize the experience, and show progress summaries. In the current version, BrainBite does not upload learning progress or custom puzzle images to a BrainBite-operated backend.

Depending on the device’s Android settings, operating-system version, and Google account backup settings, Android may include some app data in an encrypted system backup. Parents can manage device backup settings through Android. We recommend excluding child profiles and custom images from cloud backup before public release.

B. No accounts or sign-in

BrainBite does not offer sign-in and does not create user accounts. We do not ask for or collect a name linked to an account, an email address, a password, or a Google account.

C. Crash diagnostics

BrainBite does not include an analytics or app-measurement service, and it does not collect the Android Advertising ID. It does not track which activities a child plays.

The app includes Firebase Crashlytics so that we can find and fix crashes. When the app crashes, Crashlytics may process information such as:

  • Crash logs, stack traces, diagnostic information, and timestamps;
  • App version and a Crashlytics installation identifier; and
  • Device model, operating-system version, language, and general technical information.

We use this information only to diagnose crashes and improve reliability. We do not use it for advertising or behavioral profiling.

D. Text-to-speech

BrainBite can read instructions and educational text aloud using the text-to-speech engine installed on the device. BrainBite does not record the child’s voice and does not request microphone access. A device’s text-to-speech provider may process text on-device or through its own online service, depending on the provider and device settings. That provider’s privacy policy applies to its processing.

E. Support communications

If a parent or guardian contacts us, we may receive their name, email address, message, and any information they choose to include. Please do not send unnecessary information about a child, photographs of children, medical information, passwords, or other sensitive information in a support request.

3. Information BrainBite does not intentionally collect

BrainBite does not currently:

  • Display advertising or use information for targeted advertising;
  • Sell or rent personal information;
  • Request precise location, contacts, microphone, or camera access;
  • Offer public profiles, chat, social posting, or communication between users;
  • Upload a custom puzzle image to a BrainBite-operated server;
  • Require a child to provide an email address to play the local learning activities; or
  • Conduct automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.

If these practices change, we will update this policy and obtain any consent required before the new processing begins.

4. How we use information

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide, personalize, and maintain BrainBite’s learning activities;
  • Save and display progress, rewards, and preferences;
  • Diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security;
  • Respond to parent or guardian requests; and
  • Meet legal, safety, and app-store obligations.

We do not condition a child’s participation in an activity on disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for that activity.

5. When information is shared

We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by:

  • Firebase Crashlytics, for crash reporting and diagnostics;
  • Google Play services and the Google Play Store, for app distribution, security, updates, and platform functionality;
  • The device’s text-to-speech provider, when narration is requested; and
  • Authorities or professional advisers, when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or establish and defend legal claims.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy documentation. Firebase privacy information is available at <firebase.google.com/support/privacy>, and Google’s Privacy Policy is available at <policies.google.com/privacy>.

We may also disclose information as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required. We will not use such a transaction to reduce protections for children’s information without taking legally required steps.

6. Children’s privacy and parental control

BrainBite is child-directed. We seek to collect as little personal information as possible and place privacy decisions with parents or legal guardians.

Where applicable law requires verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from a child, we will obtain that consent before collection. A simple child-selected role or ordinary sign-in is not treated as verifiable parental consent.

A verified parent or guardian may ask us to:

  • Explain what personal information has been collected from their child;
  • Review or correct that information;
  • Delete the child’s personal information;
  • Withdraw consent and prevent further collection; or
  • Obtain a portable copy where applicable.

To make a request, contact info@atfalcompass.com. We may need to verify the requester’s identity and relationship to the child before acting. We will not require more information than reasonably necessary for verification.

7. Retention and deletion

  • Local learning data and custom puzzle images generally remain on the device until they are removed in the app, the app’s data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Android backups may persist according to the parent’s device and account settings.
  • Firebase Crashlytics currently states that crash data and associated identifiers are retained for 90 days before removal begins.
  • Support communications are retained for 24 months, unless a longer period is required to resolve a request or meet legal obligations.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purposes, then delete or de-identify it unless law requires longer retention.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. Local BrainBite data is stored in app-private storage, and supported Firebase services use encryption in transit. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Parents should protect their device and Google account with a strong screen lock and should not allow a child to manage parent-only settings unsupervised.

9. International processing

Google and other service providers may process information in countries other than the user’s country. For example, Firebase Crashlytics may process crash data on Google infrastructure in the United States and other countries. Where required, we will use lawful transfer mechanisms and appropriate safeguards.

10. Privacy rights

Depending on where the family lives, a parent or guardian may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing; withdraw consent; request portability; or complain to a data-protection authority.

To exercise a right, email info@atfalcompass.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Parents may also remove local information by clearing BrainBite’s app data or uninstalling the app, although system backups may need to be managed separately.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when BrainBite’s features, service providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the updated policy with a new “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how children’s personal information is collected, used, or disclosed, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain renewed parental consent where required.
